Cheng Lie Navigation Co., Ltd. (a.k.a CNC Line) was founded in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 1971. We operated the Kaohsiung-Hong Kong liner service with our only owned vessel at that time. We also set up a manning office in Taipei and offered our crew management service to over forty foreign carriers. We supplied over five thousand crews to more than one hundred forty vessels. Our crews earned significant foreign exchanges, which contributed greatly to the economic growth at a critical stage when Taiwan was striving forward.

     In December 1980, CNC relocated the company's head office to Taipei To offer wider service routes with dependable shipping schedules, we started Thailand service in 1984;Japan and Korea services in 1985,and further extended service to Indonesia in 1989.Moreover,we expanded our services to Vietnam and Manila in 1998.In June2001,CNC launched the maiden voyage of the Mainland China service, sailing among Qingdao, Shanghai,Hong Kong,Manila and Indonesia.Besides adding new routes,CNC also added special ports to our service network to meet the need of our customers, such as Japan's Tokuyama,Iwakuni and Chiba and Thailand's Rayong.

     To equip more innovative vessels with quality services, substantial capital investments were made during the period 1988 to 1999 to build 18 new vessels.CNC also added a large number of new containers to augment our service fleet. Today the CNC service network covers Japan, Korea,Taiwan,Mainland China,Hong Kong,Indonesia,Thailand,the Philippines,Malaysia,Singapore and Vietnam.To further push our operation to a new frontier,we are optimistically evaluating the possibility of opening the India sub-continent,the Middle East and South African routes.

     Looking ahead,a knowledge-based economy and e-technology will affect the trend of global logistic industry.Traditional navigation operations and procedures must be changed and intensified in partnership with the IT industry to catch up with the global transformation.CNC has taken steps to provide more efficient and highter-quality logistic e-service through the Internet to meet our customers' transport demand.WTO memberships for both Taiwan and China have created new opportunities and challenges for the navigation industry,and our management team and employees will continue to uphold the core values of honesty and responsibility to provide friendlier and more secure services for every customer and every commodity Meanwhile,we will be actively engaged in strategic alliances with navigation firms that share our core values to speed up our global distribution network.Our new vision is to provide a brand-new logistic system and to open up a new navigation market.
